Discovering Birds of Beach & Bay

Sponsored by Harwich Conservation Trust and Brewster Conservation Trust, join naturalist Peter Trull at Crosby Landing in Brewster to discover the birds of beach and bay. Explore salt marsh, creek, and dune habitats, then wander the shoreline in search of year-round and seasonal bird species. Possible sightings include horned larks, American pipits, northern harriers, and more through the upland habitats, plus brant, sea ducks, and gulls in Cape Cod Bay. This walk will build your identification skills and teach about a variety of species, including their interrelationships across different habitats. Birding enthusiasts from all experience levels are welcome.

Peter Trull has been involved in wildlife research and education for over 45 years. He holds a Master’s Degree in Education and has written nine books about Cape Cod natural history. Birds of Paradox-The Life of Terns was released in spring 2019 and his most recent book, Cape Cod – Once Around the Sun, released in May, 2023, is a tribute to John Hay and his 1961 classic, Nature’s Year.
