Teen Outdoor Immersion Experiences

Calling all curious teens:

Explore the great outdoors and discover your wild neighbors with naturalist Andrea Higgins! Hike local conservation lands while searching for animal signs and learning about wildlife tracking. Practice native and invasive plant identification while studying the distinguishing features of the trees, bushes, and ground cover growing alongside the trails. Next, slow down and engage your senses to enjoy the beauty of nature while practicing mindfulness activities and jotting down observations in a journal.

Each walk will be approximately 3 miles with varying terrain and inclines. Participants are encouraged to bring a backpack with water, snacks, insect repellent, binoculars, a journal and a pencil.

Dates:

  • Friday, August 4th (11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.): Sand Pond Woodlands
  • Saturday, August 5th (11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.): Bell's Neck Conservation Lands (West Trailhead)

Registration is $20.00 per person.
