Bicycle Tours of Harwich Conservation Lands

Join Harwich Conservation Trust's Director of Land Stewardship Connor O'Brien on the Cape Cod Rail Trail for an educational bike ride through Harwich. Learn about the importance of conserving natural lands to protect native plants, animals, and water quality. This ride will introduce cyclists to local hiking trails, teach about native plant communities, and highlight interesting geologic as well as historic features of conservation destinations.

We will begin at the bike trail entrance at Brooks Park in Harwich, travel to the Herring River on the north edge of Bell's Neck Conservation Lands, ride past Island Pond Conservation Lands and HCT's William & Barbara Hacker Wildlife Sanctuary, and end at HCT's Hinckleys Pond - Herring River Headwaters Preserve. There will be an opportunity for riders to get a refreshment at the Pizza Shark on Pleasant Lake Ave. before heading back to Brooks Park.

This ride will be 10 miles round trip. Riders should bring a bike, helmet, water, and funds for a refreshment if desired along the way.
