Join Naturalist and Kripalu Certified Guide Andrea Higgins for a Mindful Outdoor Experience on Mondays and Saturdays in July from 8-10 a.m. Ease away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in our fast-paced world and enjoy a moment of simply being present, surrounded by the beauty and bounty of nature. Pause to notice and appreciate the small details as bees buzz between blossoms and gentle breezes stir the summer air. Rekindle your sense of curiosity, discovery, and wonder.
Muddy Creek Headwaters Preserve (Mon., July 10th & Sat., July 29th)
Engage your senses on a peaceful stroll at the 17-acre Muddy Creek Headwaters Preserve. Pause by the meadow to breathe in fresh air while songbirds visit from their woodland nest sites and kingfishers chatter from the creek’s edge.
Cornelius Pond Woodlands (Sat., July 15th) *canceled
This scenic 15-acre Preserve offers pathways through the rich habitats surrounding Cornelius Pond, a unique coastal plain pond formed by receding glaciers. In the grasslands, observe tree swallows, bluebirds, and other songbirds busily flitting to and from next boxes as they care for their chicks.
Coy's Brook Woodlands (Mon., July 17th) *canceled
Stroll walking trails through rolling woodlands at this scenic 28-acre Preserve, featuring red maples and a stand of Atlantic white cedars. Enjoy salt marsh views of Coy's Brook while peeking through dense greenery.
Sand Pond Woodlands (Mon., July 24th)
Savor serene trails through quiet forests, meadows, and wetlands at the 77-acre Sand Pond Woodlands. Observe colorful dragonflies and damselflies as they dart about in beautiful acrobatic displays at this wildlife sanctuary, also home to otters, deer, opossums, racoons, coyotes, and more.
The Kripalu Center in Stockbridge, Massachusetts focuses on enhancing health and personal well-being through teaching yoga, nutrition, mindfulness, and other supportive practices. Kripalu-trained Mindful Outdoor Guides like Andrea offer "powerful nature-based experiences - combining forest bathing, Ayurveda, meditation, and practical outdoor skills - for people of all ages and backgrounds."
Time: 8-10 a.m.
Each walk is $18 per person.
