Bell's Neck and Bike Path Birding

Spring migrants begin arriving in Cape Cod woodlands in mid-to-late March. Who are they? How do we identify them? Where can we find them? To answer these questions, naturalist Peter Trull will be offering guided birding walks to explore the woodlands and wetlands of Bell’s Neck Conservation Lands. Casually stroll the bike path while examining the woods, open land, and a relatively unexplored area of the Herring River in search of these spring migrants.

Immerse yourself into the life of local birds by learning about species identification, behavior, habitat preference, and life history. All birding interest and experience levels welcome! Please bring binoculars.

Peter Trull has been involved in wildlife research and education for over 45 years. He holds a Master’s Degree in Education and has written nine books about Cape Cod natural history. Birds of Paradox-The Life of Terns was released in spring 2019 and his most recent book, Cape Cod – Once Around the Sun, released in May, 2023, is a tribute to John Hay and his 1961 classic, Nature’s Year.
