Red River Beach Walks with Gil Newton

Are you curious about what you find and see on your beach walks? Ever wonder why salt marshes are so important?

Join science educator and author Gil Newton on a morning walk to discover the variety of marine plants and animals along the Cape shoreline. Learn about their ecology and the diverse habitats in which they are found. Gil has written several local field guides including “Activities for the Cape Cod Beachcomber.”

Your guided stroll will explore the marine mollusks, crabs, echinoderms, sponges, horseshoe crabs, seaweeds and other common species which share our sandy coast. We will take a close look at their interactions with other living things and their surrounding environment. Get to know your wild, intertidal neighbors at Red River Beach on Nantucket Sound.
